Who approved this wording, and when
Approvals happen against specific revisions, are recorded with the release, and are answerable in a minute rather than a week.
Approval is attached to a revision, not a conversation
An approval in an email thread does not say which version was approved. Here a decision names the exact revision digest, so the question "was this signed off" has an answer that does not depend on the thread being findable.
Policies you can actually enforce
Protected components — a brand header, a regulatory wording block — can require a named approver group. Nobody approves their own revision.
